The picture attached is of Mr. Rod Clarke. Rod is a retired 28 year Gander firefighter. On Mothers Day Rod’s heart stopped while having supper with his family at a St. John’s restaurant. SJRFD Firefighters from Kent’s Pond Station worked on Rod for 10 mins before HSC arrived. At hospital Mr. Clarke said that he was placed in an induced coma for 2 weeks. 

He and his wife showed up out of the blue at Kent’s Pond yesterday with cake and cookies to thank the firefighters who had assisted him. Our members were very touched by his gratitude and glad to see he is doing so well.
