St. John’s Regional Fire Department says one of their off-duty firefighters saved the life of a man at Mile One Stadium last Thursday.
Off-duty firefighter Chris Dunphy was playing in net when the man collapsed on the ice. Upon finding that the man had no pulse, he started CPR, requested the stadium’s Automated External Defibrillator, and made sure the emergency call was made. Dunphy applied one shock of the defibrillator, and revived the man.
