A pot left on the stove forced members of the St. John’s Regional Fire Department to break down the front door of a home in the Mitchell Court Area early yesterday evening. The Fire Department responded to reports of heavy smoke and had to force their way in. No one was home and there were no injuries, but smoke damage was extensive.
