In relation to the recent news reports regarding the use of a defibrillator by one of our off duty members Firefighter Chris Dunphy and recently retired Halifax (IAFF Local 268) member Brian Conrad at the Mile One. Our Association would like to congratulate both of these individuals for their excellent efforts in helping to save a hockey player who suffered a heart attack.
This Association recently purchased a defibrillator and donated it to the Vera Perlin Society to be available for use in their facility. Below is a photo of President Doug Cadigan and Vice President Gerard Hayes making the official presentation.
This Association firmly believes that it would be of enormous benefit to the public if Automatic External Defibrillators were available in all public places and more of the public were trained in CPR and familiar with the use of these life saving devices.
