On Sunday Sept 27th Members of the St. John’s Regional Fire Department held the 3rd annual pull for Muscular Dystrophy  in Paradise. Mayor Dan Bobbitt was on hand to welcome the competitors and said he was very excited to have it held in the town, so much so he actually made me promise to hold next years event in the same location.

The event started at 1:30 and finished at 3:00. Heavyweights Training Centre knocked off the SJRFD in the championship pull preventing the firefighters from winning a third straight championship. The event raised roughtly $7000.00 for Muscular Dystrophy on Sunday bringing our overall charitable donations from this event to $27,000  in the last 30 months.

Congratulations to all Local 1075 members who to part and to organizers Richard Hynes and Bob Connolly on another excellent community event.

Also we would like to thank the Torbay Volunteer Fire Department for raising the largest amount ($1,400.00)
